There was many events for all of the children and adults alike. We also had the finest EMS, Fire and Fire Police available for the protection of the approximately 1500 people in attendance.
The men foraged through out the town and where very happy with how the town folks helped out, then when the troops met in town, a fire fight broke out with only a few casualties.
The 1st field battle was held on the hill to the left of the ball field with the Yanks pushing the Rebels back into the woods at the bottom of the hill with very few causalities.
The Sunday Battle was a lot more fearsome. The Yankees where coming in off beaver creak road and ran in Rebels that where sitting on the high ground and drove the attack back just as our for fathers did. The battle took place in the same place that it did 146 years ago.
Everyone please thank Ed Owens for suggesting that the fire works be brought back to Funkstown. The fireworks lasted about 20 minutes. It was truly a wonderful site.
