New Years News for 2013

Christmas tree pickup is scheduled for Tuesday, January 7, and Tuesday, January 14, 2014.
Please place your tree at the curb the evening before pickup after 4:00 p.m.
Keep in mind the tree will need to be undecorated to be picked up, because trees are being recycled.

The Funkstown Ordinance requires that snow and ice shall be removed from all sidewalks within the Town on the same day of the cessation of any fall of snow, sleet or freezing rain or within the first ten hours of daylight after the cessation of any such fall, whichever period is longer.

Please remember when filing your Maryland Tax Return, Form 502, put FUNKSTOWN in the City, Town or taxing area box.  This helps the Town to acquire grant money.

On behalf of the Mayor and Council and staff, Happy Holidays and have a safe New Year!

Additional News

The Town staff is in the process of updating the utility software, and online payments will be available in the very near future.

A secure drop box has been located in front of Town Hall for after hour correspondence and payments.  Please take advantage of this service.

When doing renovations or any construction to your property, please check with the Town Office to see if a Building Permit is required.

Due to vandalism, and limited Town staff, please be advised that during the week of July 1st the Funkstown park bathrooms will be locked from June 30th until July 7th.  They will be reopening on Monday, July 8th.  Pavilions will not be reserved at that time.
The Town apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause, but unfortunately increased vandalism has forced the Town to make this decision.

Dogs are allowed at the park but MUST be on a leash at all times, and you MUST clean up after your pet.

This has been an increased problem, and in order to continue allowing pets, this requirement must be followed.

Southern Blvd.

“Southern Blvd” also known as the Funkstown Bypass may be in jeopardy. Anyone who lives in Funkstown or travels through the town knows how much we need the bypass. This is a county project that would not only benefit the town residents but also all of the commuters and the county as a whole. Please contact the County Commissioners and let them know that we as voters want and support the project. We need your voice to keep this in front of the commissioners to get Southern Blvd out of the planning stage and make it a reality! The email address below will allow you to send an email to all of the commissioners and their staff.
