COVID-19 PANDEMIC VOTING PROCEDURE
Printed Ballots will be mailed to all registered voters to their P.O. Boxes
All voting shall occur by mail or hand delivery to the Town Hall Voting Box
All voting by registered voters shall be on Ballots supplied by the Town
All ballots mailed must contain an August 3, 2020 postmark to be counted
All ballots hand-delivered on August 3, 2020 to Town Hall must be received by 6:00 p.m.
No ballots shall be received by hand-delivery at Town Hall before 9:00 a.m., August 3, 2020

Day in the park update
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and restrictions that the governor has put in place regarding large gatherings, the Mayor and Council are sorry to announce that this year’s Battle of Funkstown Re-enactment and The Day In the Park has been cancelled this year. We look forward to holding the event next year.
Public Alert
The Town of Funkstown is pleased to offer a new service called Public Alert.
Public Alert will allow us to communicate with informational alerts, and keep you informed as a valued member of the community. Alerts can be sent to adults in a household by e-mail, text messaging, and voice alerts via cell phone or landline.
If you receive a utility bill, you can register for Public Alert.
You can register by doing one of the following:

- Include your sign up information with your utility payment
Let us know your alert preference, and provide the necessary sign up information.
Yard Waste
ATTENTION FUNKSTOWN RESIDENTS:
EFFECTIVE TUESDAY, MAY 12, 2020 YARD WASTE WILL RESUME.
Yard Waste will be collected on Tuesdays, and shall be set at the curbside no earlier than 4:00 p.m. before collection.

The Meeting of the Mayor and Council, in compliance with the Maryland Open Meeting Law and the Emergency Ordinance of the Town regarding Open Meeting Compliance, will be streamed via the Town’s Facebook Page commencing at 7:00 p.m. No in person attendance will be permitted at the Meetings until further notice of the Mayor and Council. Any comments or concerns regarding the Meeting, action taken or proposed action should be submitted in writing by regular or priority mail, email or hand delivery to Brenda Haynes, Town Manager, 30 East Baltimore Street, P. O. Box 235, Funkstown, Maryland 21734 or bhaynes@myactv.net. Said comments will be made part of the Minutes of the Meeting.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and the public health risks it presents, no in person attendance or testimony shall be permitted at the Public Hearing scheduled for April 13, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. for the purpose of considering an increase in the charge for new water and sewer connections within the Corporate Boundaries of the Town. In order to remain compliant with Maryland’s Open Meeting Act and the Town of Funkstown’s Emergency Ordinance regarding Compliance with said Act, comments, input, exhibits and/or other relevant information may be submitted in writing to the Town Manager, Brenda Haynes, via regular mail, priority mail, email, or hand delivery no later than 4:30p.m., April 13, 2020. (Brenda Haynes, Town Manager, 30 E. Baltimore St., P.O. Box 235, Funkstown, MD. 21734 or bhaynes@myactv.net). Any such written comments, input, exhibits and/or other relevant information will be made a part of the record of the Public Hearing and considered by the Mayor and Council in deciding upon the proposed action. The public shall have the ability to listen to the Hearing which will be conducted via conference call through the Town’s Facebook commencing at 7:00 p.m.
Trash Pickup
Effective immediately, at the recommendation of Federal and State government, Apple Valley Waste will NO longer be emptying containers that have loose trash placed inside. PLEASE make sure all trash is in tied bags before placing in containers. The company needs to do everything possible to protect their employees that are essential to keeping our municipality safe and clean.
